Marc Andre Dauth Shaping You Fitness

Originally from Alfred, Ontario, Marc-Andre Dauth discovered his passion for nutrition and fitness at the age of 14, which he pursued throughout education.

His learning is based on courses like the JumpStartMuscle Activation Techniques (MAT) Certification, Anatomy and Physiology Certification, and the Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) Specialist Certification; additionally, he completed a certification in Personal Training and Nutrition while working on his Business and Finance career.

In 2014, he inaugurated My Rock Bottom Fitness to offer Nutrition, Personal Training, and sports-specific training to the public. As the demand for Physical Therapy increased over the years, more and more time was dedicated to his MAT practice with the desire to keep, training and nutrition as services available to the public, the opportunity for other Fitness coaches had to be considered.

In 2022, a partnership was formed with Jason Riopel that led to the creation of Shaping You Fitness in 2023; the goal was to revolutionize the approach and process by leveraging advances in technology while maintaining a focus on the core values by providing 100% custom plans and maintaining a strong coaching relationship with clients.

As a result, Fitness Coaching has become an increasingly important part of Shaping You Fitness. His work philosophy focuses on helping and supporting his clients so they can keep a healthy, active, and pain-free life.

Marc-Andre has an impressive career as a bodybuilder, competing for 11 years and participating in tournaments organized by associations such as WNSO, FAME, OPA, earning regional and provincial titles as a professional athlete. During this time, he became familiar with Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT), which significantly improved his muscle development, athletic performance, and reduced his levels of injury.

I have been working out since the age of 16. I am a personal trainer myself and reached out to Marc Andre for some added support to get me to the next steps of my personal best.

I was looking for someone to lead me into another level of fitness and I can’t say enough about his professionalism, knowledge, and support.

Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT)

Since 2015, Marc-Andre has practiced Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT). It became the cornerstone of his services and practices, which he incorporates into the individual needs of his clients.

His approach is unique and highly effective for the treatment of sports and life-related injuries.

He starts off by performing an in-depth assessment of the patient’s condition and range of motion.

He then uses a combination of isometric positioning, manual therapy, corrective exercise, and education to help the patient achieve their goals.

MAT includes soft tissue mobilization through testing, joint mobilization, and restoration of muscle contractile capability through soft tissue palpation. A non-invasive approach, that helps to reduce pain, and inflammation, while increasing the range of motion, and improving the stability of the joints.

The corrective exercises he performs help to restore proper movement patterns and correct any muscle imbalances that may be contributing to the injury. Furthermore, he educates his patients on how to properly perform the exercises, providing them with the knowledge and tools to improve their condition. He also offers advice on how to prevent future injuries. His approach has enabled his patients to notice a significant improvement in their mobility, flexibility, and stability, as well as a reduction in chronic pain caused by previous sports or any life-related injury.
